Guinness released its latest record-breakers to mark Social Media Day, happening around the globe today.

Other social media records unveiled for the occasion include Snoop Dogg collaborator Charlie Sheen's Twitter feat of attracting a million followers in the shortest time.

He broke the record in 25 hours and 17 minutes during the first two days in March, when he dominated the microblogging site's list of trending topics with unforgettable hashtags such as #winning and #tigerblood.

'Social media records are some of the most asked about by our fans and readers,' commented Dan Barrett, Guinness World Records community manager.

'Along with the world’s tallest, smallest and heaviest, record fans want to know who has the most comments on Facebook, followers on Twitter, or views on YouTube.

'These records are particularly interesting because people are immediately available to participate in – it’s very appealing to know that you can be a part of a world record just by “liking” a post on Facebook or watching a video on YouTube.'
